Men's weekend

Loneliness

Who do you call at three in the morning?

The hall with sofas and rugs under a ceiling of seaweed and exposed beams.

About the weekend

The man with three hundred contacts and maybe one to call. By the fire on Friday we talk about men's loneliness, about friendships side by side with our hands in something, and about why it is easier to be vulnerable with a woman than in front of men. Here we practise the latter.

Saturday is about what a brotherhood is: the same men, again and again, and asking for help as the hardest skill. On Sunday we tell you about the men's group — for those who want more, and only here.

The hands

What fifteen men can only do together: raise a roof truss, move the big thing, build the long table for the hall.

Saturday evening

On Saturday evening each man who wants to asks the circle for one concrete thing: a call next week, a hand with a move, a beer. The circle answers with hands in the air.

The question to take home

Who have you missed for a year?

How the weekend lies

Friday

You arrive between 2 and 4 pm and get a room. At 5 we sit in a circle, and at 9 we open the theme by the fire. Sauna for those who want it.

Saturday

Up at 7. A talk, then work until 2 pm. Two hours where you write, in silence. A walk to the sea, two by two. Dinner, and at 8 the evening's room.

Sunday

A silent walk, a short circle, and then we read out what you wrote on Saturday — anonymously, if you wish. A last talk, and at 4 the ferry leaves.
